Born forth from the forehead of almighty Zeus, Athena is a female goddess envisioned by a patriarchal interpretation of creation. She stands for truth, honor, wisdom and an uncanny sense of intelligence that got Ulysses past all sorts of human troubles.

Athena’s wisdom encompassed the technical knowledge employed in weaving, metal-working, and war. She is maiden and warrior of truth but certainly not enamoured of war.

In her role as a protector of the city, Athena was worshipped throughout the Greek world as Athena Polias (“Athena of the city”). The Parthenon, on the Acropolis of Athens is her most famous temple. By offering the domesticated olive tree as a gift to the city of Athens, the Athenians accepted Athena as their patron, for the olive tree brought wood, oil and food.

At Delfinia Hotels Athena holds a special place as patron of our main conference and seminar room.

The Athena Room has hosted many local and international events of a spiritual, scientific and entertaining nature amongst others. Aligned with the Goddess’ gift of ‘seeing’ the truth even through the thick of darkness she is a benevolent symbol of understanding and growth amongst human mortals towards which she often shows favor.

The room itself is available to host events and provides many flexible options to accommodate event requirements. A fully serviced food and drink reception, electronic equipment, tables and seating are all attainable upon request. In planning your next event you may contact us on for availability.
